Freedive Courses
If you have never done any freediving, or, if you have tried a bit of snorkelling, or swimming under water at your local pool, then completing a freediving course is a great idea.
Freediving is potentially a risky sport, and having a good understanding of the theory, physiology and rescue procedures will help to keep you, (and your new freedive buddies) safe.
I am a qualified and insured AIDA Pool Instructor. I teach in association with Apneists UK.
(Please note that I do not currently teach the Open Water section of AIDA courses, but can arrange this through Steve at Apneists UK for you, if and when you require).
Your freedive course will be taught to an internationally recognised standard and you'll get a card to prove you have completed it (much like doing a scuba qualification with PADI)
The beginner course is the AIDA 2 Star Pool Freediver. Details are here.
I also teach AIDA Competition Safety Diver. Details can be found here.
As well as freediving courses, I can also offer training in First Aid. Contact me for further details.
Most of my courses are taught in the North West, (mostly Crewe, or Manchester), but I can also arrange courses further afield.
It's not just about doing a course though. Once you've completed your training, we want to to become an active part of the UK freedive comunity, especialy part of our group, Apneists UK.
We want you to develop your skills and ability and the best way to do that is to practice. Once you have completed your freediving course with us, we hope you will come along and train at our regular dive sessions. We have pool sessions in Crewe, Manchester, Stockport and Liverpool.
Then, when you're ready, we can offer further training (Apneists UK runs AIDA 3* and 4* courses, and even Instructor courses).
As a qualified diver, you'll be able to enter an AIDA pool competition, (such as our very own Great Northern Competition).
You will need to be aged at least 18 to learn to dive with me, and you will need to complete an AIDA medical form.
